:applause: for mutt. It was a tremendous effort by a fan to drive interest in the program.

But also :wahhing: for the fans if this is indeed over.  It was tradition for a program in need of it.

I have been inquiring.  Would like to hear from mutt.  He's put a lot into it and is a tremendous fan.

Yes, you should hear it from Mutt...sad day for Grass Roots USF

This was always a great way to begin an upcoming season.  I think I made 9 out of the 11 of them.  Thanks to Mutt and everyone who set this up over the years.  I won't begin to call it "the end of an era".   Just because it's not happening this year doesn't mean it's gone forever.   Go Bulls!

Bummer, was looking forward to it.   Maybe next year.

Too bad. I really appreciated how this went live on Facebook last year for all to see.

Shame.  This was a great time a few years back.  mutt put tons of effort into it.  Wish all parties could make it work.

As everyone knows I'm 1,200 miles away, but why not have the event minus CCS?  Why not continue the tradition with CBG  or CJF or Bill McCausland from USFAA? Or just Bulls fans?

Why quit?

Afterall, Journey continued without Steve Perry and people still loved them!

Honestly, it's a good question.  My guess is people show up in larger numbers when the University and its coaches are there to support it.  Otherwise it becomes just another guy trying to get other guys to the bar.

We shouldn't speculate, really.  mutt has the answers.  Could be the heartbreak of the school not having interested in supporting him/his event.  Believe me, over the nearly 20 years I've had this site, they've gone from openly embracing and posting on it, to acting as if it were the Devil reconstituted.

Agreed Brad.  May just need to go in another direction for a bit, not quit.

Perhaps some of the guys from the recent Alumni hoops tourney, Genshaft, Join Lewis, etc.  Anyone reached out to Vinik? Time for a bit of creativity.

I can say from another angle, they are stiffing other on campus groups too. Athletics is loving the smell of its own farts this year... there are quite a few getting shafted

Its sad.  I think I've been to 6 or 7 of these.  Always loved going over there and seeing all of the other Bulls fans.  Having the Head Coach there was definitely a draw.  Alot of those years we had Craig from Bulls Outfitters too.  Rocky, Sun Dolls, Cheerleaders, even players (Quinterrious Eatmon comes to mind).  My guess is that it will be back next year, but who knows?  Really looking forward to a great year!

Go  Bulls!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
