Baseball America had us in the Charlottesville regional as the 2 seed with Virginia, Old Dominion, and VCU.  Another interesting tidbit had UCF hosting a regional after winning the regular season AAC title.  It did mention that either USF or Houston could grab that hosting position if either team won the AAC Tourney and UCF falters.  Didn't think we were still in the running, but I guess there is still a little hope.

Go Bulls!

Losing 2 of 3 to UCF and dropping the mid-week game hurt, but we can rebound by winning the tournament and hope for a chance to host

Our chances also depends on our final RPI.

At the moment we are #19.

Because we are playing ECU a win is only worth 12 RPI points.

So, not only do we need to keep winning, but we could use some additional help by other teams losing.

These are the games today which impact our RPI:

#16
Direct Impact
In Progress
#18 Mississippi State
#13 Arkansas
Win: 19 RPI Points
Loss: -31 RPI Points

#17
Direct Impact Games
5:00
West Virginia
Oklahoma State
Win: 10 RPI Points
Loss: -36 RPI Points

#18
Direct Impact Games
9:00 PM
Long Beach State
Cal State Fullerton
Win: 28 RPI Points
Loss: -16 RPI Points

#19
Direct Impact Games
7PM
South Florida
East Carolina
Win: 12 RPI Points
Loss: -39 RPI Points

#20
Direct Impact Games
8:30
Kansas
Texas
Win: 14 RPI Points
Loss: -37 RPI Points

Is there any overall weight to winningthe tournament towards RPI? Or does I think just depend the teams that get beat along the way.

If I understand your question, NO.

If USF keeps winning our RPI will improve. How much, depends on the RPI of the teams we beat and the RPI of the teams around us,

Today, for example, UCF went from RPI #23 to RPI #21, not only because they won, but also because Baylor, then RPI #18, lost and fell to RPI #23.

We almost got some additional help in the GT Wake Forest game, but GT gave up 2 runs in T9 to lose. Wake has the #12 RPI in the country and would have lost 38 RPI points had they lost that game.

Yep, I was watching that game closely.

GT had a chance to break it open with bases load in the 8th and squandered it.
