I would not say "greatly" impairs it. Teams get 15 practices for a bowl. Last game is Thanksgiving weekend. The two bowls that changed are at the third week of Dec. Thus, you can still get them in pretty comfortably.

Whatever bowl game we are headed to is going to come down to one thing: Our Defense.

Wouldn't mind the St Pete Bowl if things don't go our way. At least that is a good consolation prize.
