Exactly, and the legislature is so corrupt and gerrymandered they even ignore the constitutional amendments to quit gerrymandering. You literally can't vote the representatives out. They've carved out permanent seats.

I've often said that if I, as a casino gambler, got to make the rules that I would do much better than I do currently.  Our system is just so screwed up in favor of the people in power.........

Wonder what would happen to the USF investigation by the NCAA if USF got to fire the guy leading the investigation. I'll stop there but I do need another drop of bourbon.

I just said this here at USF today. We need a law school so we can get the representatives that have a terminal degree from USF.

Of course the legislature would fight that as well.

I have no doubt that USF wants to do this, but FIU alone had it rough enough just getting a law school, and they at least have the argument that their population base is too far to go to UF or FSU, plus they have lots of potential employers in Miami.

If you think UF will allow a law school within 200 miles of theirs, think again. FAMU law is already in Orlando and that's the excuse they'll use for duplication of services.

A law school probably doesn't help the metrics or get us research dollars. I'd like to see USF keep following STEM, computer science, and medicine and patents and entrepreneurship and business leadership.

Keep pushing for studemt success and best outcomes. Despite having lower 4 and 6 year graduation rates, USF students had higher salaries upon graduation and we have more patents, and we are gaining in research output. We need to keep pushing those type of metrics. Does a law school advance those? Or just saturate the labor market of lawyers and make USF a degree mill?

Sorry but, this seams to be more of an act of cooling the mob rather then a plan of action. The simple fact is that they halted USF's scheduled path to Pre-eminence. Even if changes are done now, USF will still not achieve Pre-eminence any time close to it's original scheduled date.

I want them to come to a speedy resolution but, it still isn't amicable to me as we have lost valuable time and funding.

Eh?  If they go back to the previous criteria or the originally proposed criteria, USF would be right back on track.  Even if the changes happen next year, USF would be back on track where we expected to be at the beginning of this year, which would be achieving the goal by next year.

This letter didn't mention anything about "returning to the previous criteria". They merely stated they would meet to discuss how to get USF back on the path. How do you get anything further from this letter?

I was responding to this statement.  If lawmakers make change to go back to previous criteria, USF would be right back to the original schedule.  Thus, there are changes that can be made that can get USF back on track.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
