That crappy politician whose name is slipping my mind who made USF Lakeland in a stand alone school, wasting millions in tax payer dollars just to build a monument to himself.

J.D. Alexander (spit)     Plus every legislator that was pressured into voting for it.

Some good suggestions to add to the list.

I could agree with John McDaid.  I was at that game, such a great atmosphere that night, but certainly not the ending.  That was a BS call.

I was thinking Schiano as well.  OK, so hate might be a strong term.  But every major school has a list of despised people.  Maybe that is better word then hate.  Yes, Skip won some big games, all in his first year with Leavitt's talent, but then he drove the program into the ground.  Antigua may not deserve to be on the list, but being he drove a program that couldn't have been much lower into further irrelevance I added him. Plus the fact he oversaw a program that is now under NCAA investigation, he was deserving.  Woulard did some great things for the program, but with the waterfall of Big East cash pouring in, I wouldnt expect anything else in regards to facility upgrades.  He gave Holtz an extenstion after a losing season, then fired him 9 months later, costing the university a couple millions dollars.  Plus he was asleep at the wheel during conference realignment.

  1. Skip Holz
  2. Margaret Taylor
  3. Brett McMurphy
  4. Joel Miller
  5. Doug Wollard
  6. Orlando Antigua
  7. John McDaid
  8. Greg Schiano
  9. The Big 12
  10. Mike Bianci
  11. Jeff Fischer
  12. Pitt
  13. Cuse
  14. Colby Erskin http://www.tampabay.com/sports/college/usf-bulls-senior-receiver-colby-erskin-tells-investigators-teammate-joel/1063652

So Doug not getting us into the Big 12, which was never going to happen anyway, is below Skip? If you think Skip cost us a couple million, Doug failing to get us in the Big 12 cost us tens of millions.

Not exactly. Jeff Bowers made a jerk comment about the league expanding and adding us, saying the league should be looking for quality not quantity. It started (or fueled a rivalry). In reality, Jeff had no say, it was a President decision, not a head football coach decision.

Of course it wasn't a head coach decision, but at some schools the President listens to the HC.  Ironically enough, Bower - their very successful coach - got run out of USM because they thought they could do better.  **** plateaus.

USF Administration of the day, let the rumor live about Bowers being the source of USF not getting in. I remember a story from back then of a CUSA AD meeting where the league (remember Mike Slive was commissioner back then) where Slive said we need to build more rivalries in football, and going around the room and asking AD's who they wanted to establish rivalries with, USF identified Southern Miss, because at the time they were the tops in the league. So, letting our fans think of Southern Miss as the villain was good for business. UAB from a football perspective was never a school we wanted to tie a rivalry to.

Fla. Senate.

A CALL FOR FAIRNESS FOR USF STUDENTS, FACULTY AND THE TAMPA  BAY REGION!

At the last minute, the legislature is planning to make a change -- taking away millions of dollars of funding for USF meeting Preeminent University metrics. This late change excludes SOLELY the University of South Florida from qualifying for preeminence AFTER the Board of Governors had certified USF met the necessary criteria that had been in the proposed language since January. This change also will badly hurt our downtown Tampa medical school and heart institute as well as other USF Colleges.

Please help by contacting your Florida legislators immediately to request fixing this when they return to Tallahassee on Sunday. Please click here for more details or click here to take action.

This is not fair for our region or for USF. Thank you for your immediate assistance.
