USF (QUESTION MARK) Posted May 5, 2017 Group: Member Topic Count: 7 Content Count: 15 Reputation: 7 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/06/2015 Share Posted May 5, 2017 Vinik is systematically building an empire of his own in Tampa while improving many aspects of the city? Bought the TBL and turned them into one of the best teams in the league. Vinik's building a city to support his team. 107 consecutive sellouts The best personnel in hockey Got the team out of the red Building youth sports teams Building the city & community in Tampa Tampa Ecosystem project with Bill Gates Real estate deals with Cascade to buy and preserve historic Tampa architecture Two Billion dollar Channelside renovation spanning 50 acres He's continually trying to lure FF500 companies to the Tampa Bay area His Involvement with USF Offered an acre downtown to USF Managing USF's MM rights and Sundome Was part of the B12 pitch team This surface level of his involvement in the Tampa community. Fortunately it seems he is beginning to turn more attention towards USF. I'd like to hear what TBP has to say about this. I for one think Vinik is going to play a large role in the growth of USF (directly and indirectly).

I love living in a city that is continuously growing and has movers and shakers looking towards the future. Vinik's company will do wonders for USF athletics, health and research. Honestly I'm curious to see what direct impact we will see with his company taking over multimedia rights and the sundome. Does that mean more prestigious concerts will perform at the sundome? Does that mean the experience at games will be better? Will this have any bearing on TV rights and conference affiliation? Regardless I'm excited, will generally moves quickly with any ideas. I also don't think it's a coincidence this is happening mid-2017 when USF a on the path to pre-eminence.

A med school near at Channelside brings a bunch of young professionals to the area. Which means they will frequent the shops and restaurants in the area. I agree with that theory.
