The release isn't a deal breaker. You can still petition for your release on some sort of hardship or pay your way for a year while you're redshirting, then you're eligible for scholarship the following year and can play as well.

Thanks for the info.

I was just speculating.

It just seemed so odd that he would delete those tweets, between the time he communicated his intent to transfer to USF, with JK yesterday, and this morning.

I noticed that earlier this morning too when someone's original quote of his had "tweet unavailable." I bet there's more to this.

+1 ArmyBull is misinformed...

Darrell Scott did pretty well. Tyrone McKenzie is one of our best players ever. Kion Wilson did great. So did Craig Marshall. Oh, that guy JPP was a transfer. And Kawika Mitchell. Did you like Jamie Byrd? Or Mistral Raymond? Chris Dunkley was a bright spot on a bad team. I could keep going.

One thing to remember is Charlie Strong handles transfers different than we're used to.  I think he asked the kid to take the tweets down as he did Michael Dwyer when he transferred in to Ville.  He keeps his cards close to the chest until it's a done deal.  He is one of the coaches who also do mind and in some cases encourage silent commits.

I like it ..... maybe the board can emulate that philosophy. :shade:

With CCS that is a real possibility.

We, apparently, had a bunch of  "his silent commits" announce only on signing day.

With the real possibility of an "early" signing period this December, I wonder whether he will maintain that practice.

Agreed. Just pointing out for people who don't how the system works, a release is really only a release for the first year. It allows you to take a scholarship while you're sitting out a season for transferring.
