Bulls men's coach Brian Gregory reportedly has received his second commitment from a prep school player, getting a pledge from Putnam Science (Conn.) Academy F Alexis Yetna.

Rivals national basketball analyst Corey Evans reported the commitment Wednesday.

A France native, Yetna -- listed at 6-foot-8, 215 pounds on the Putnam Science roster -- is a three-star prospect according to ESPN. He also reportedly had offers from Mississippi State, St. John's and Oregon State, among others. He visited USF last weekend.

"They definitely are bringing in a new style of play: a competitive, up-tempo system that is definitely something (Gregory) and his staff hit on," Yetna told Evans.

Yetna would increase USF's total of 2016-17 scholarship players to nine, presuming no one else transfers and the incoming players ultimately sig

Alex Yetna calls South Florida home

A premier rebounder, Alex Yetna, a 6-foot-7 power forward out of Putnam Science Academy, has committed to South Florida. What he lacks in ideal height, the native of France more than makes up for with how hard he plays and his instincts near the basket.

While Old Dominion, St. John’s and Oregon State remained involved, a quick visit to South Florida last weekend was all that was needed for Yetna to commit to the first-year staff.

“They definitely are bringing in a new style of play: a competitive, up-tempo system that is definitely something that Coach (Brian) Gregory and his staff hit on,” Yetna said. “It is a good fit for me to get better, the coaches understand how I play and they have talked to me about making me the best that I can be but also make an impact right away.”

Gregory on a rampage.

This are all midlevel players who are the types of players we should have been looking for all along. It's too early to make a determination, it's been barely a month on the job for CBG, but he's coming out fired up and trying to get guys who are going to play well here.

The fact that he is going to be able to field a team at all after the mass exodus is amazing. Add in the fact that he is pulling in quality guys that will be able to contribute from Day 1 and I will have to give the first 30 or so days of the CBG Administration a solid "A"

Indeed, and he's doing this under a looming NCAA cloud. Nobody knows what the NCAA is planning or how far reaching the academic problems are.

Here's the good news-GT interfered with the NCAA investigation and the NCAA in response decided to give them a rectal exam. Not a chance that Harlan, Gregory, and the administration will interfere with this investigation.

From what I have heard, USF doesn't expect any major sanctions leveled against them.

"The French Menace" Alexis Yetna is a rare STEAL for a higher-major like USF. @PSAhoops wingspan big man is a STUD! http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/yetna-picks-south-florida

...His recruitment went to a brand new level this season though after arriving at Putnam Science Academy in October and again demonstrating his special ability to rebound the basketball.

He added offers from the likes of Iowa State, DePaul, St. John's, Mississippi State, and N.C. State in recent months but new Bulls head coach Brian Gregory and his staff made him a priority from the moment they took the job at South Florida in March.
