Argument Fails due to extrapolation from small sample size. Number Five says you need more inputs...

While our DC may not have been great, he didn't miss one tackle last year.  Tackling is something that is taught since the 65 lb leagues.

So that's not part of his responsibility? Ensuring players out there have good tackling fundamentals?  That's all on him and how he ran things.  They didn't tackle that great under Allen either, but they didn't get records broken on them and played pretty decently.  Woodie was complete garbage as a DC and part of the reason they were having problems tackling could also stem from coaches not putting them in good  positions to make plays.  Which he did not do at all.

We'll agree to disagree on tackling.  We will agree totally that Woodie was in way over his head as a DC at USF.  That said, at some point the kid on the field needs to breakdown, square up, wrap up and make the tackle.  He owns it.  I'm not looking for the ESPN kill shot, that's nothing.  Just blue collar making a tackle works.

Go Bulls!

The fact you had to go back 8 years to find something like that rests our case.

Just curious why you feel the need to state the blatantly obvious. Maybe you think arm tackles will work? I can show you hundreds of hours proving that will not work.

Maybe I should have just gone with my original thought when you two started the wrapping up BS. - NO **** Captain Obvious.

Quite a few posters on here would never say anything if we were supposed to avoid posting the blatantly obvious.

Textbook tackles are boring. Big hits get oooo's & awwww's, so they must be better. :9_innocent:

That's exactly what you should have done instead of abusing the subjective face palms and needlessly posting a video.

Video wasn't great on that. Was that the hit that sent a kid to the hospital and he had to stay here for a few weeks?  The one I'm thinking of was against a cupcake early in the year.  Thought it was Mike Jenkins.

You're thinking Mike Jenkins in 2004 against tennessee-Tech.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
