Good luck RS. My alma mater is definitely a basketball challenge.

Lets also be honest here, Rod is currently out of work. I don't know if he needs to work (he did make good $$ as a player), but if he needs to work, then it is hard to turn down an offer like this.

Especially if it's his goal to be a program's head coach. This gets him on the coaching map. A quick google says net worth around 32M, so he ain't hurting.

The only less stable job at FAMU is that of president.

The only thing I find interesting about this is that word was that, while here, they didn't send him out recruiting. Something about the history of DUIs being something that parents wouldn't love if an opposing coach brings up.  We shall see.

His story can be I was young and dumb once. I turned my life around and know what it takes to keep your child on the straight and narrow. I also played many years in the league and can put your child on the path. I still have many contacts.

"Can I give your kid a life lesson or two? Yes...yes I can." "Do I know a thing or two about what it takes to be an All-American and a professional baller? Yes...yes I do." I think he can definitely spin it for the audience.

His problems went on beyond the young and dumb once story.

Do you really think these parents will research all of that?

It's the Information Age. I know I would.

I'm sure opposing coaches will be happy to provide a dossier.

I think Strickland was a big reason he came here ...

Why do you think that?
