Confirmed is very interested in coming back to USF and told this to Coach Gregory.  He should be a no brainer to add as an assistant.

- Won 20 games a year every year at Wharton (almost 20 years now).  He also NEVER recruited a player to go there (unlike other schools).

- Very hard nosed but fair coach

- Master evaluator of talent

- Runs great X's and O's at Wharton without harming the flow of the game.  His inbounds plays were really outstanding
- Dealt with some really tough kids from bad situations at Wharton, and became a father figure to many (tough love approach).  Would be a great assistant to help these kids.
- Knows USF well (played and coached there)
- Bring back what little tradition we have at USF for basketball

Does USF share that interest? Are we trying to court him (pun intended, I guess) or is this more of a matter of him saying "Hey I'm available if USF wants me?"

He's been back here once, right?

And I'd imagine CBG may be scrambling for assistants so this may not be bad .... but I wonder what kind of rapport TT has with other area coaches.

If he's won 20 a year he should at the very least have their respect.

This would be a good move.

I wonder if there would be any mutual interest with CB or Radenko. Both are at a majority of games and great links to the past, CB with the local twist to push .... Imagine both, though, are set in careers and maybe wouldn't be financially feasible for either.

Anybody know if Wharton has any potential targets we may be after the next couple of years?  If we made this hire we wouldn't be able to recruit Wharton for 2 years....

I like that rule ..... and it definitely wouldn't be a deal breaker if CBG wants to add TT to staff.

That reminds of Larry Brown hiring Danny Manning's father as assistant coach the same year he signed with the Jayhawks.

Kind of reminds me of the Terrelle Woodie situation here ... Gotta do what you gotta do ... as legal as possible.
