I guess fCWT has his BMM

Well he said this is his first passionate fan base, so now he gets the attention that goes along with it.

fCWT is dead to me.  Not because he left, but because he took parting shots, tried to hire our HC candidate and recruited the hell out of our commits.

Did he really say that?  If so I am officially off team Willie.

It's the 21st century. If you want to be team willie, no one is going to judge you.

Here's the quote so you can at least be indignant at the exact statement ...

“Once we started winning [at USF], I said I wasn’t going to leave unless I had a chance to win a national championship,” says Taggart, who went 24–25 over four years with the Bulls and finished 10–2 in 2016. “Here at UO … the passionate fan base, that’s really appealing to me. I haven’t had that since I’ve been coaching. You have all the resources to be successful, no excuses.”

Not quite as big a shot as Seth's parting one but mostly as equally correct. This board is the very passionate portion of our fanbase but overall, I'd be hard pressed to call our overall fanbase, passionate .....  this is where the ocs'ers may chime in with their main reason why we aren't.

I agree with you 100%. I don't mind someone leaving for a better or higher paying job, but there was no need for him to bad mouth his prior jobs. All he had to say was "I appreciate the opportunities USF gave me, but now it's time for the next chapter in my life". Move on with class.

As if they needed more encouragement ...

I'm thinking that, in this context, 'passionate' might mean 'many deep pockets'.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."
