If UCONN were to go I think a serious candidate should be Western Kentucky.  WKU has been consistently good at football.  Looking at their major sports overall since 2013 (post Taggart) for a good reference across the board.

Football: 39-14

Mens Basketball: 70-53

Women's Bball: 99-27

Baseball: 77-46

Softball: 89-70

So my candidate for replacement or expansion would be WKU

That's a pretty good record and they seem to be back to their winning ways from their FCS days. They were always at the top of FCS and seem to have a good formula for success at the FBS level. They'd also give Cincy a close by travel partner. They've kind of been out on an island since Louisville and WVU left.

I would say it is hard to watch WKU on TV given the junk contract their conference has. If they came here they would be getting a five fold pay raise at a minimum.

Army may still not be willing to come. They are afraid of being continuously obliterated in conference play. I'd say give them a couple more years of success and they may think about joining a conference again.

This conference was formed with schools in large markets and known brands. Of those left out there, only Georgia State, NIU, Old Dominion and Charlotte are left without turning west. We already have ECU so Charlotte is out. NIU would be too isolated and isn't actually within the Chicago Market. So the only true choices are Old Dominion and Georgia State unless you wanted to add in South Alabama. I'd say Georgia State is a good choice for future development but, not one to stake our next media contract on unless it's asked for by the media partner themselves.

If UConn left and we were able to do it, I'd add Army, Georgia State and Old Dominion. The would be a huge bump in total media market size as well as footprint and at least two of the schools have had recent success in Football, (Army 8-5 and Old Dominion 10-3).

I did it a few times. It was super easy and connected to the train.

It wasn't ideal.  You had to connect at 5 Points and wait for a bus.  There should have been a train dropoff right by the stadium like they have for the Georgia Dome and Philipps Arena

Again, almost no one would watch those games in their own media market which is true for many in our conference so maybe it does not matter. But based on your selection, I would rather the conference move to the west.
