Some talk of having a signing day in December. What happens to all these kids that flip in January, or on National Signing Day. Does that put the pressure on the kid or the coach? Or do they do it only for early enrollees?

Read something about that recently and how the timing may not work out well for Florida kids because of end of semester exams.  Supposed to be voted on in March or April maybe?

Flippers gonna flip. The date is irrelevant.

Probably a little less pressure on coaches because they'll have maybe a clearer picture for those last 2 months ... and don't see any more pressure on the kid. Not ready to sign in December, don't sign. Could also help some kids put choosing, seeing where they may fit better because of recruits already signed.

There will also definitely be kids who try to sign in December and are told to hold off etc.   Gives the kids a better picture of how real their offer is.  A good example is that Parks kid from Sebastian that got told by Bama today that he couldn't sign earlier today because they were waiting on somebody else.  If that happens in December the kid has more time to find a staff that truly values him and wants him.

Wonder how this will change the landscape as it seems like a double edged sword. I suppose it's in there for the players so coaches don't pull their offers or try to siphon them out of the class at the last minute. But what's holding programs bad players back from not participating in the December signing day to just hold off? Is that gonna start sending strange messages? Wonder how this will work.

Better where it is now. What if Marlon Mack's replacement signed with someone else because he didn't want to RS and thought Mack was coming back. Needs to be after the season and draft declarations are done so kids know their options.

The point being, if you are the kind of kid who flips, you're just going to do it a few months earlier than you normally would. Unless you think the early signing date will make college coaches stop recruiting a committed kid once he gives his verbal.
