Herrion is the best of the 3 assistants by a wide margin IMO.  He was Jamie Dixon's Associate HC at Pitt when they were one of the best teams in the country and recruited 3 top 10 classes at UVA.

No kidding, This hire is great.

Good, I'm shutting up about MBB now, lol.

Did we even talk to Patrick Ewing?

How many NCAA Tournament appearances has Patrick Ewing had as a coach?

Looks like xCOA wasn't keen on just sitting around taking money for nothing .... saving us a little cash in the process.

Illinois confirmed its new coach, Brad Underwood, has hired Antigua as an assistant. The two don't appear to have coached together in the past.

...

The five-year contract Antigua signed three years ago indicates if he gets another basketball-related job upon his dismissal, USF must pay only the difference between the two base salaries -- if the salary at his new job is lower -- through the expiration of his contract with the Bulls.

Antigua's USF deal included a $375,000 annual base salary.

Things are looking up for our bball program.

I'm liking this head coaching hire more and more. This is the first USF bball head coach to really focus on strong assistants.

Now, let's see what they will do with Bartow. I think the man is dedicated. If they can make it work with him on board, instead of letting him go and paying his salary, it would be another plus.

The first maybe to focus on a couple with local flavor but without having to go back too far, I think Stan's bunch was stronger, at this point ..... the new guys could change that down the line, though.

I'm surprised that Duquesne has that much scratch to throw at a coach--wow.

Well, the A-10 schools don't have FBS football so they can funnel more to hoops. Dambrot may have already had the Duquesne iron in the fire when he turned down USF and he feels strongly connected to them because his father played there many moons ago and they haven't had much success ever since. Plus less distance from family and less of a dumpster fire in freefall, although it will certainly be a project to get them to the NCAAT.

Speaking of Stan, I'm sort of surprised he's not landed another head coaching gig. The bones' power extends beyond the Sun Dome!

The stigma of not being able to make it at such a powerhouse basketball school is a heavy cross he bears ....
