This seems so odd. I actually was talking to an Uber driver this morning (picking up my car from the bar, cause ya know don't drink and drive.) and he was just talking about David Reaves goingto Oregon and how he drove his family once.

I wonder if there are figures out there that tell how many drivers annually actually drive under the influence, based on the legal definition, but didn't get caught. I know I sure as hell did, stupidly ... and would imagine that most people that drink have at one time or another. These days, the ease of utilizing Uber, etc has definitely helped in that regard.

No statistically valid ones, since this is something people would lie about as often as not.

My guess is that the drivers who have driven impaired is well over the OP's estimate of 50%

in this day abnd age you have to be an stupid alcoholic to get a dui.With uber and similar companies and regular cabs available one must have a serious drinking problem to drink and drive.

this isnt 1965

firing reaves is appropriate and i wouldnt hire him unless he went to rehab and regularly went to aa and would agree to submit to  random drug/booze tests
