There was a lot of good New Orleans talk on the recruiting board in the Michael Scott thread so I figure I'd start a thread over here to continue the discussion.

Highly recommend staying in hotel or airbnb on St. Charles Ave in Garden District. On streetcar line that runs to both the Quarter and Tulane $3 per day.

Yep I think this is on alot of peoples radar for an away trip.  Especially weak road schedule this season.

What are the best areas to stay in New Orleans as far as bang for your buck and bars/restaurants?  Haven't been there in years.  From the looks of it Tulane is away from the tourist areas, but I don't think getting there would be difficult without renting a car.

I will make the trip. I live in Pensacola now so it's maybe a 3 hour drive.

Uber has a minimum charge for rides.   

Staying at Moxy hotel in Quarter area.
