With Football, our expectations are Bowl Games very year, Conference Championships at least every fourth or fifth year, and a chance to make the playoffs and eventually win the Natty

With BB, what are our realistic expectations? Is it enough to have a winning OOC record? Do we have to have a winning in-conf record? NIT once every 10 years?

If you can't state the expectations, there's no way to know whether you've achieved them, and therefore no way to evaluate whether to keep a coach or not. Basic HR stuff, folks

I know this is just a jounalist's point of view (which I agree with actually), but the funny thing is we had a relatively (by our standards) coach that had a young nucleus of pretty good talent in place with Heath. Then Judy got impatient. We wasted at least 3 seasons with Antigua. More than likely it will take another 3 to 4 with the new hire for this team to even become respectable. So, we lose at least 7 years to get back to where we were.

Firing Heath was the dumbest move ever. Let's just hope we find  a solid BB coach that can get us moving forward.

The NCAA year he had 22 wins, 12 in Big East. The next year he lost one starter (Gus Gilchrest) and went all the way back to 12 wins, 3-15 in conference. And then he repeated 12 and only 3 in AAC.

Great 2011 season, but he could not coach.

Yeah, all he lost from the NCAA year was Gilchrist ..... smh.

Coach has the best year in the history of a program like USF, you give him time to build it back up .... especially considering he had just gotten the tools really needed to try and get to the next level. There's little room for error when trying to re-build at a place like here and in 12-13 he lost a key component before he ever got here in Austin and in 14-15 his little "Sunbelt" quality pg just played 8 games. The recruiting was on an uptick considering most of his players that left went on to have decent years elsewhere. Not saying the third year was a lock for marked improvement but the smart move was to at least give him that chance .... a move that looks even smarter now.

What would you expect with these players, today, and any coach in America?

I always say a coach shows how great is he when working with poor players. However with this team there are not 3-4 wins on the schedule even if Pitino, Coach K, John Wooden and Dean Smith and Roy Williams descended upon the Sundome to coach. Any expectation should be that the fundamentals of the team improve.

Wow, 10th coach. We've had a basketball program for a long time. It's just my opinion, but I think it's time we get serious about MBB. We've been okay and CSH was good (maybe becoming better) at making the best of what he had, but he's gone so we need to attract recruits with a proven winner--if one becomes available. I have my reservations about moving the asst to HC--doesn't always translate for the players.

Whats all the smh? Gilchrist Sr year in 2011 was his worst season 9pt, 5reb, on 39% shooting. Heath had 4 returning starters that just won 22 games,  with more experience from NCAA, and you think that a 9 win dropoff was warranted due to one guy? Everything in hindsight is "smarter".

The fact that you totally overlooked the loss of RAJ and Robertson, and what they meant to the team, shows you didn't really follow USF basketball back then ...

Gotta think way outside the box .... and he's already on the payroll .... but he does yell at players:

TAMPA — Carrollwood Day's game against Indian Rocks Christian is exactly 38 seconds old, but Patriots coach Karim Nohra has seen enough. He races to find a substitute for freshman guard Tiasia McMillan. McMillan wasn't executing plays to Nohra's liking, and as she ran off the court, she was getting an earful.

"I ripped into her," Nohra said. "It was unacceptable what she was doing."

...

He took over a young program. Really young. There are six freshmen, and five are starters. There are two sophomores, a seventh-grader and an eighth-grader ... So far, that hasn't mattered. Carrollwood Day was 16-2 entering Friday's game against Berkeley Prep

...

Nohra, who has been an engineering professor at USF for 30 years

Coach Karim Nohra has led a team of five freshmen starters to the most wins in Carrollwood Day girls basketball history.
