it's a hypothetical that simply won't happen (you don't make changes this late)...I'm trying to help the OP understand why.

sounds like you're jealous USF doesn't have a FedEx (there was no reason to bring them into this)...I understand why, the $$$ is nice.

again, you don't make changes to the 2017 football schedule in Jan of 2017...good luck, though...a strong USF is good for the AAC.

USF has a good chance to go undefeated OOC with P5 win...take that and run with it!

I'm not a dolt. I understand the logistics involved. However, I was just throwing it out there that we should try. At least then we can tell the media we did everything in our power to try and improve our schedule in case they are debating the merit of a 13-0 USF team getting left out of the CFP for a 10-2 P5 team (another far-fetched proposition, but that is what message boards are for).

"a 13-0 USF team getting left out of the CFP for a 10-2 P5 team"

a 13-0 USF would most likely be sent to the 'access bowl'...I doubt you'll ever see a G5 team in the playoff unless it's expanded to 6 or 8.

It might help for you to know what you're talking about sometimes.  It's happened before.  In Jan. 2009, FIU dropped a game against us later that year, for a game against Rutgers, also later that year.

So called "power" 5 programs aren't going to schedule USF this year...even at their place.  They don't want to get beat.  They are looking for W's.

I still say we should ask Miami for a game in Miami. Seriously. We will be ranked in the preseason top 25 and should blast SJSU on the west coast.  That will be a top 25 matchup at home for the canes, rather than having to go on the road to Arkansas state. They aren't competing for a national championship this year, but the winner will get a good shot at a NY6 bid.

Harlan should go for a big one like the Chick Fil-A Bowl against a SEC team. Does not hurt to aim high

exactly, that was 8 years ago...events like that are extremely rare.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's extremely unlikely.
