Sure but thats basketball, not football. A lot of the appeal of college football is that tOSU-Michigan, Bama-Auburn, FSU-UF, is the playoff. The regular season in CFB matters more than any other sport in America.

Can't believe you got negged for that...

I guess I'll see if it was worth it. I need to keep an eye on that donation meter.

The difference is in baseball and basketball, Cinderella teams have a legitimate shot in a tournament format.  In reality G5 schools have pretty much a zero shot for the football title.  The best we can hope for is the NY6 Bowl Game.  It would take a miracle for a G5 school to get to that game, where as a school like Ohio State can go without even winning their conference.

If by miracle you mean proper scheduling aligning with elite talent on the field then yes we are in agreenace. Very tough. But outside of that it isn't a miracle. ESPN Ne the playoff committee were ready to deem Houston that team before everyone realized they really weren't all that great. If they would've ran the table, they would've been in the top 4 over Ohio State. Undefeated with wins over OU and a blowout win over Ville would've got them in

Agree

Houston shot themselves in their own foot. Had they run the table, they'd be playing tonight.

The thing that sucks is, in football you have to schedule so far in advance. With basketball, baseball, soccer, you can set your schedule up so that it favors you by seeing what a team looks like beforehand. We hit the jackpot with that Kansas game a few years back. Imagine if we scheduled that game now.

Btw - it's been proven that cinderella stories don't draw as big of numbers as two blue bloods playing. The notion of anyone winning is a fun one, but not something that captures eyeballs. We need to be P5.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
