There may be some dropoff from the RB position, but I don't expect all that much.

Agree ... but hope we land a Top RB in Recruiting.

I like Tice but honestly I would like to see one of the young guys ahead of him on the depth chart if he does indeed come back.  From the practice chatter it sounds like Sands could be that guy as he has a similar skill set to MM.  It would be better for the program for one of the younger guys to step up so our backfield won't be so green in 2018. I'd like to see

Johnson

Sands

Tice/Mack (If Tice does get the extra year)

Totally agree about the green-ness reduction, so I'd go a step further to want to see Sands ahead of Johnson. That is, of course, if he earns it but I like the idea of keeping DJ as a utility player more than a dedicated/featured back.

Johnson has waited patiently for 3+ years for his turn.  If he's somewhat equal to the other backs, he has EARNED his time in the sun.  Give him the rock next year.  The younger backs can wait their turn like Johnson did.

I am wondering who the dynamic playmaker will be at the WR position that will pick up from where Adams left off. I think there are plenty of weapons.

I'm going to guess McCants steps up.

Tyre McCants is poised to have a monster year next year.  A big bodied receiver that can move.

Agreed Johnson should get first touches he been productive and does everything well and should have a strong season.  I know in the offense we ran this past season RB's were constantly being moved around and even on the field together to create mismatches.  This lead to lots of touches to go around with an extra RB lined up in the slot or out wide while another was in the backfield.  I don't know enough about Gilbert to know if he will do the same thing but I imagine that DJ's versatility should be taken advantage of.
