I wish him the very best but I can't help but think this wasn't the smartest choice.

The big problem with that is more than half of running backs who get drafted don't make it to their second contracts...

Agree 100%. But that's more of an argument to go pro to me. Don't risk another year of being injured without earning a salary and getting a year closer to free agency.

I don't blame him. But if he stayed healthy I think he'd have gone much higher next year.

Wonder if the concussions played a factor as well. Too many more and he may not be playing at all

Speculation would say yes.  At this point, time to grab a check before it's over.

Mack was the lone bright spot in 2014. Consistently an explosive playmaker. Gonna miss him. Sneak peek of 2017 depth chart:

RB1: D'Ernest Johnson

RB2: D'Ernest Johnson

RB3: D'Ernest Johnson

Mack was great, but in reality probably drafted 6th or 7th round and cut then maybe signed to a practice squad.  This move reminds me of Kelvin Taylor of gators few years ago.  Came out early drafted by the hapless 49ers, I think in 7th round and did not make team.  I think he is working at Publix now.

Just give the ball to the Junk Yard Dog and get out of the way....

I think he should go. He is either good enough or he isn't. If he is, he will be fine. If he isn't he will fall away. If he was drafted in an earlier round next year its the same story, but he will beat himself up for another year and his coach left so a new staff is a big question mark.

Glad I saw his final game as a Bull in Birmingham.

Guess his parents are out of the loop.

Think it's a bad decision but his injuries and QF getting carries probably made him jump for the money now.
