It was the Masters degree he lied about. Lying on the resume was grounds for not getting the job. Just as if you and I lied about it and got caught on a background check. The UK Office of Public Relations confirmed to The Tampa Tribune that Masiello was a student there from 1996 to 2000. He was a walk-on basketball player for Coach Rick Pitino in his first year, then Coach Tubby Smith for his final three seasons. According to UK records, Masiello never received a degree. http://www.tbo.com/sports/colleges/usf-bulls/usf-deal-with-coach-falls-through-20140326/

I think college degree is a requirement for employment in that position here so they couldn't have hired him at that point. from his UT-Chatt bio: Quote McCall completed his undergraduate degree in exercise and sports science in 2004. His master’s work in the same concentration was accomplished in May 2006. http://gomocs.com/coaches.aspx?path=mbb&rc=474 he came up under Mike Jarvis at FAU, and Billy D at Florida...he completed his first season as Head Coach at UT-Chatt, taking them 29-6 with an NCAA tourney. Mine was more a rhetorical "Link?". I'm sure MH has learned his lesson and resumes will be verified before an offer goes out.
