I teeter on what would be a better playoff option but I realize I'm mostly just irate that the so called G5 conferences literally don't get a fair shake.

The hottest teams in the country right not are USC and probably FSU and I realized if you had a 16 that you're giving those programs a chance at a title when they stumbled so hard early on. In all honesty, what makes college football so great is that every week counts. If you fall on your face, it matters. Lose a close one on the road to an unranked team? You lose your chance at a natty. Something like seeing FSU make it to the championship game when they got annihilated by a Lville squad by 40 earlier in the year because they got hot late doesn't sit right. Same with USC. They looked inept against Bama; and don't tell me "USC is a better and different team," because so is Bama.

If it was 8 you have Wisconsin and Oklahoma competing; again disregarding Wisco's losses to two of the playoff teams (in this scenario) and Oklahoma's losses to Houston and tOSU.

I realize the only reason I'm on board is if there's a G5 AQ. We all saw WMU went undefeated and didn't get a **** chance. They floated around the same CFP ranking all year while other teams jumped them and fell and went all over the place. If a G5 program could easily improve their SOS by scheduling solid P5 teams regularly it wouldn't be so bad; but the committee is pushing the P5/G5 divide by telling P5s to stop scheduling us.

I'm not sure what any of you are complaining about. If you've subscribed to the notion of Power 5 in the first place, you've already lost your arguments.

The simple fact that the system is broken has skipped most fans minds. When the polls can rank a Division 2 College in a Division 1 poll, they've lost all credibility. Anyone arguing the polls merits after that has missed the point entirely.

Get rid of the bias and nonfactual human selection committee. They will never give a fair shake to anyone, not even their own teams. Since they will be hedging their votes towards their favorite teams, their bias removes the fair shake from the equation.

Set up 10 or more different computer programs based entirely on the data collected from the current season and have their rankings come from those. We would see an entirely different process to be sure and most of the names you see pushed from the start  of the season on would fall by the way side.

North Dakota or North Dakota State appeared in several polls this year.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
