I thought the same thing. Ohio State making the CCG would have been risking their top 4 ranking with the extra game.

Ohio State likely to get 0-fer'd by Clemson, unless they put in the 4th stringers. Penn State should have gone to the Fiesta, and OSU should be in the Rose

Personally, I think you should have to win your conference to get to the playoffs.  Picking the four, "best" teams out of 120+ teams is impossible and highly subjective.

Winning the conference is not a prerequisite to getting into the playoffs. You just have to be in the top 4. According to the following article, Ohio State had the toughest SOS of any ranked team, with four games against top 10 opponents, three of those on the road. Tougher SOS with only one loss, as opposed to two losses, with one being to an unranked team? Ohio State deserved to be ranked higher, at least in my opinion. Not sure you'll be seeing very many two-loss teams in the playoffs...
