We won the game that day because BJ Daniels was the best athlete on the field that day, plus our receivers held on to the ball and we played aggressive style defense.  I think Mike Canales developed the offensive game plan for the game

I remember Christian Ponder spending the day on his back courtesy of JPP. I was at that game, with my FSU alum brother and our parents in between us haha.

Defense won that game vs FSU and BJ connected on a few big throws and had a few nice runs.  With a healthy Grothe we would have beaten them by 20 plus.

I loved that game but FSU was flat and we wanted it more.  They were not in the hunt for the NC back then and Bowden seemed to be coasting in his last year.

We punched them in the mouth and it was Daniels debut so they didn't know how to plan for him.

Let me remind you FSU stomped BYU the week before.  FSU thought they were back in the title hunt and they had Jimbo running the offense then so it wasnt like they were completely different.

Just goes to show you that every team can have its off week or off game or even off year.   I was at that game FSU offensive line could not stop our defense.  How many turnovers did they have like 4.

JPP had a good game.  But Craig Marshall and Aaron Harris made some big plays too. When you have NFL draft picks like Selvie , McClain, and JPP and then the "other guys" step up, it's usually gonna be a long day for an offensive line / QB

Is there any actual news on potential hires for our 2 Assistant Coach openings?

This thread has spiraled out of control and is severely off topic!

Doubtful, it's my understanding that his relationship with Strong is greater than Tags.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
