Something similar has to be possible for CFB as well. Yes, if the playoffs were expanded to 12 teams or so, then a G5 team or two could get in (presumably). With 8 teams a G5 need only be ranked in he top 8.... right guys... am I right...? Yep.

Very doubtful. And they didn't come close, in the end.

But the system that's in place makes it all but impossible for a full half of the teams to ever get a shot at a national championship. That's crap. At the very least, there should be a clause that an undefeated G5 gets a seat. Its like anything political, people vote in their best interests. For the G5 the best interest would be an auto slot. For the P5, the people in control, it isnt. It isnt that hard to fathom that the playoffs will expand and there will be little to no consideration for the G5. Especially when the "half" that is upset represents a fraction of the revenue.

Agreed. It's just really frustrating that a competitive sport has any politics to it at all. That the game itself takes a back seat to the money involved. Different rules for different teams depending on how much a network is willing to pay for their media rights. It's ludicrous.
