They received a $16 million donation in 2004, and are building an IPF that is supposed to be quite impressive. Great location in Boca Raton. If Kiffin can get the ball rolling there, they may get some casual football fans from Broward and Palm Beach counties who might loathe driving to Miami to catch a Canes game (not to mention more donor $$ rolling in). Will be very interesting to see how things unfold with Kiffin there, especially if he sticks around for awhile. https://www.google.com/amp/www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fau-owls/fl-fau-athletic-facility-1203-20141202-story,amp.html

If he's successful he'll be there just long enough to "repair his image" and off to a P5 job. Edited December 29, 2016 by Bull Dozer

No chance, his ego will not allow it. His refusal to accept a large buy out is what killed talks with Houston. He's already looking for the next job and is dying to prove he can succeed at the highest level of college football. He's taking a win at all costs approach at FAU to try to get there as soon as possible (see DeAndre Johnson & Kendal Briles). This thinly veiled "humbled new man" act that he will pull for the next 2-3 years is laughable. Edited December 29, 2016 by Bull Dozer

The hope is that he can create a system on offense and defense like CWT did at USF that future coaches can recreate. I'm convinced any Florida school can recruit hard locally and in the state and have success in their respective conferences (big three aside.) Im still extremely surprised he went to FAU. Curious if he wanted to jump ship and not be in Saban's shadow that bad or if Saban was willing to move on from him regardless.

Kitten will be gone if he does well, we all know this. Strong might be too. why are we discussing this school on here today when our school is in a bowl today? Save the FAU love fest for after we curb stomp some gamecocks!

I actually think he has changed and may actually be successful for it. He used to have his hands in on everything. He has already said Briles will have full control of the O and i would guess his brother has full control of the D as well. If he can keep from micro managing too much and get out of his own way he will be successful.
