especially since a non-conf champ OSU can get in (to boost CFP revenue & ratings)

Never count out Cinderella especially, if she has a "STRONG" leader. :GoBulls:

With the offense we have THIS YEAR, assuming Flowers and company come back. if we have a TOP 25 DEFENSE along with it, YES we will absolutely be in the running. ESPECIALLY if we seem to be destroying teams with a 30+ point margin. THAT will be almost impossible to ignore. What people don't realize is we will most likely play 2 maybe 3 ranked teams also next year between Houston/Temple/Navy.

I just want to make absolutely, 100% certain that I understand this position. It is your contention that:

"USF, next year,  will be one of the top four NCAAF FBS teams in the country and play in the FBS Championship bracket with a possibility of a national championship."

Or did you mean to say that IF USF performs as outlined above they could get the G5 NYD slot (Cotton Bowl this year with the slot occupied by Wyoming)?

I make a distinction between playing in the bracket and getting the throw-the-dog-a-bone-G5-inclusion-bowl-berth.

Just wanna be clear.

You are either being intentionally dense or don't quite understand what the definition of glass ceiling is.

Oh well.

Just using your words, friend.  If you don't want to own it, that's your problem.

LOL.

You can't figure out what a glass ceiling is so you throw in a passive aggressive "friend".

Next time I am on business in Alpharetta I can swing by and try to explain it verbally. Clearly reading comprehension isn't your thing.

No point in being passive aggressive on a message board.  You clearly have a more narrow definition of glass ceiling than I do.

glass ceil·ing
noun

  1. an unofficially acknowledged barrier to advancement in a profession, especially affecting women and members of minorities.

there's the definition.  A glass ceiling doesn't have to be implied, or hypothetical - it can be physical, too.  I mentioned the physical barriers which you cast aside in error - apparently due to a very narrow view of the term.  Sorry, but that's your problem, not mine ... friend.

Fan of Charlie, but WMU showed us what happens to teams with weak schedules.  The ceiling is likely between 10-15 and a New Years Six Bowl.  I'd be absolutely thrilled with that, but CFP is out of question.

i didnt even even read the whole thread but even if we go 12-0... we aren't going to a 4 team playoff.

Have you seen our schedule?

One thing about hiring a "name" coach, it will certainly bring a buzz in the off-season and probably drive ticket sales far above and beyond the increase we would have seen due to overall improvement of the team.
