Has Kaepernick had the flag removed from his helmet yet?

As a member of Team USA, you should stand for the anthem.  It would be like a Jewish person joining a Catholic Church and not saying the, "Our Father"

To play for a national team and sit during a playing of the national anthem would be the height of hypocrisy.

What if I took a stance to promote awareness for one of the many injustices still occurring in our country and was punished despite there being no rule or law against it?

Clearly, John Tortorella has made a rule, so for someone to break that rule, they would have a consequence.  I mean, this is basic stuff that parents teach their children.  Actions have consequences.

If one if his players did it NOW they'd be breaking one of his rules. JT has a point. Would be a sticky wicket.

How exactly is a vanilla white blonde chick working for an ultra-conservative news outlet going to "school" a black football player who is more in touch with issue that his protest is based on?

I think the notion that her skin color and job somehow negates her ability to understand the issue is silly.

I read a lot of history, I've not had a problem understanding it because I don't happen to be the same.

Now, I didn't listen to what she had to say, so I'm not vouching for her, just pushing back on a poor argument.

Anyway, it's NFL time.  Colin can get some sunshine on Monday.  Hopefully he'll be able to better articulate the issues.

Having both my parents being Vietnam Veterans, I have an immense respect for the National Anthem.

But let me ask you a silly question-

How come we never sing the THIRD verse of The Star Spangled Banner? Can you imagine, if at the Superbowl, the jumbotron put the lyrics to the THIRD verse of The Star Spangled Banner, and everyone sang it?

Talk about giving a quick history lesson :-)

We don't sing the 2nd verse either, but I get what you mean.
