We only have maybe 6 more scholarships even with all the decommits(whom I believe a lot are in the same position as Hogan judging by where they're ending up). We had 6 WR commits at one point which was a third of our class at a position where we don't need but maybe a couple. Another WR that will probably jump is Davis; rumor has it the new staff hasn't really been in contact with him much if at all.

"We also learned Monday that Dr. Phillips slot receiver Emare Hogan had his scholarship pulled by USF after confusion left over from the Willie Taggart regime. Apparently a grayshirted player from the 2016 class showed up to enroll earlier this month, taking a scholarship away from the incoming class. USF determined it ran out of spots and didn’t honor Hogan’s scholarship offer."

If that's the total report, while it could be true, absence of specifics throws some doubt on it .... as well as the source. Who was the gray shirt that signed earlier this month?

I like how the implication is that a player literally just showed up unannounced and was like, "What up?!? I'm on the football team and you're going to be giving me a scholarship!" and CCS had no idea he was coming.

I think USF would also announce the arrival of a player that was enrolling and going to be on the team.

I heard that he showed up with a handwritten note from Willie that said "I owe U one schollie!"

Considering we had several decommits not too long after CCS was hired, with no additions, even if that scenario did occur, we should have had a spot available.

Probably soft verbals that haven't been announced.

Announced by whom? The player and his coach would be keeping it quiet for what reason .... ?

And who was our gray shirt signed? Means he would be on campus now, doesn't it?

Not uncommon to make a silent verbal. Kids that don't want to make a big fanfare out of it or want it to be a surprise to the public. Half of the hat games on signing day are probably also this.

If that's the case then we're back to who is the 2016 gray shirt who signed that supposedly bumped Hogan? ...... If that Slantinel report is accurate.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
