The Big 12 just announced that they will be evaluating candidates for expansion.  It is happening for sure this time.  The time has come for both USF and UCF to put aside any hard feelings and completely work together on this.  Full court the B12 as a combined package that would be better than any other package that the B12 might be interested in.  Combined #4 market.  The Big 12 will still look at a conference network now, as indicated by McMurphy's tweet, due to the recent ACC network deal.  Genshaft, Hitt, and their underlings need to get on the first thing smoking and touch down in Dallas to talk to and pitch this idea to B12 commish.  B12 commish has been tasked with finding the best candidates starting now.  Time is of the essence.  In roads must be made yesterday if not sooner.

Hopefully this doesn't mean we need to have our own Fastival.  That's just nerdy.

The BIG 12 would be dumb not to take both

Playing devil's advocate: Doesn't that make the Big 12 look like the least of the P5? The ACC and SEC have the "Big 3" and the Big 12 takes the "Little 2", me thinks it looks kind of bad on the Big 12, who likes to pretend it's Big Ten or SEC level.

^ Neither Houston nor Memphis are SEC level either.  FSU/UM/UF aren't leaving their conferences.  If the B12 takes USF/UCF it would be in the form of a Florida investment.  It would take some vision; unfortunately, everything I've learned about the B12 to date suggests shortsightedness.
