Went there for the first time in a long time.

Stood outside my old dorms (Eta and Zeta).

Marveled that a place could change so much, with so many updates, and still look completely rundown.

It does not appear that anyone is taking any pride in the appearance of the dormitory part of campus...

Probably because there's no point in up-keeping it.

They will be torn down in 3 months and replaced with the new high rise student village complex.

Aren't there newer dorm buildings there that have been built in like the last 10 years?

Yes, all over the place.  Juniper-Poplar Suites and Magnolia apartments are on the west side of Campus, Holly Apartments and Maples Suites are across the street from Andros, and Cypress Apartments are on the north side across from the Greek village.

Just the original ones. Since they are so old and out of date... As well as being inefficient in terms of space.

This.  New dorms and a Publix will be built where Andros stands right now.

How freaking old are you?  Herpes has been around since ancient Greece:

"Herpes Virus Infections have been prevalent as early as ancient Greek times. Hippocrates is known to have described the cutaneous spreading of herpes simplex lesions and scholars of Greek civilization define the greek word "herpes" to mean "to creep or crawl" in reference the spreading nature of the herpetic skin lesions."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
