Why are we light on commits?

I'm looking at our 8 commitments, then looking at the blue bloods like FSU/UF and top tier school in AAC, like Houston, and noticing most of 18-20 commits already.

Why are we so light? Do we not have a full class to offer up? Were a lot of kids on the fence about Taggart?

I mean, UCiF has the same amount of commits as us and are a dumpster fire!

We are in the middle of the season with a coaching staff that until 2 weeks ago was fighting for their jobs.  Recruiting will pick up after Thanksgiving.

Taggart was betting on success this year as well. He appears that he purposely held out on accepting commitments because he felt like he was going to have a great year, win wise. After the season we should see some major recruiting buzz. Might even pick up now that we've won. If we beat Cincy and then UCF and play in the Championship game against Houston/Navy the sky is the limit as far as recruiting. We've been around 35-40 in the country in recruiting with terrible win/loss record I can't wait to see what it looks like now that we've won.

Big keys will be Taggart's extension, if he gets one and how we finish out the season. It may also depend on how the rest of the conference plays out as well. If Houston wins out what bowl do they end up getting? do we look like a P5+1 conference like the Big East used to be? Lots of questions that need to be answered for recruits and this year may be able to do that a little in regards to our team's and conference's legitimacy.

get 8 wins, extend Taggart, and you should start seeing some big names commit to us. I would think a lot of top RB recruit wants to play for Taggart. He has a good history with developing RB

My concern is it's too late if we wait until the end of the season. By then, most of the star players are committed.

Not really.  Remember, he has flipped other candidates from schools.   One thing they guy is a master at is recruiting.

The momentum of South Florida's 2015 football success has brought a lot of attention from top in-state talent and one of the players watching last week's upset of Temple was Largo (Fla.) Indian Rocks Christian School fullback Theo Anderson.

Cant say that much because of pay wall stuff. However, most of the comments have been right. Kids waiting to see how the season played out. Apparently seems like kids do want to play for CWT and relate to him, being a local guy. Also, families seem to want their kids to play for CWT.

Quick glance at the rivals Florida 100 for the 2016 class shows about 40 uncommitted. We signed 3 of the top 100 in 2013, 8 of the top 100 in 2014 and 4 of the top 100 in 2015.  Plenty of good talent that we are recruiting is still there.  Also, factor in that any kid still talking to us the staff will work hard to flip.  The kids that are most likely, IMO, to get flipped (by us or someone else) are florida kids committing to play out west for second tier P5 programs - Utah (Chris Barr last year), Colorado, washington state and the like.  Those kids get closer to signing day and the majority will decide to be closer to home.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
