For Mexican, I remember going to Casa Gallardo on Fowler around 15th Street.

Casa Gallardo -> Crack House -> Mel's Diner -> Jerk Hut -> Shells

(I don't think I missed any version)

Not where I was thinking it was. What was the one further west, past 15th, same side of road, just a little before the old Toys R Us?

That was Hops, now an Indian restaurant. Right behind it is NY Style Chinese Restaurant which used to be Damons.

Haha, Hops on Fowler ... I actually had a class there that met one night a week my final semester.

Thursday nights I remember the Bennigans on Fowler was pretty wild ...

USF needs non-chain venues around campus. It's a shame the Corral died so quickly

You are right, I didn't realize you were only talking Mexican restaurants. I just thought you were asking what was at that location.

Then I don't know. I moved to Tampa in 1993 to go to USF, so I really can't go back any further.
