Not just FIRE Willie, but a Grass Roots effort to bring back CJL!

44 posts in this topic

I know it will never happen so long as Judy is around, but our program has been in a steep nose dive since CJL was unjustly fired.  He is the father of USF football, and we will just continue to have a revolving door of coaches from here on out.  Either they will suck like the past two or they will shine and be stolen away to bigger programs.  CJL proved he wasn't interested in bigger programs.  I think he is the best bet to save the program.   Its gonna take someone who will generate a buzz when hired, and I dont think anyone could create a bigger buzz.  UL brought back Petrino, and yes that was under much different circumstances, but Petrino came back with baggage and a black eye.  CJL is more to this program that just about anyone else. Maybe it would take a grass roots effort, but I surely can't be the only one.  I am tired of it, and will not renew my season tickets for year 20 with this continued garbage.

I will never happen, with or without Judy.  That ship has sailed.  It's time to get over it.

No one was a bigger Leavitt fan than me, but no interest in bringing him back at this point. We have moved on at this point.

I will say this. I'm confused why it's such a crazy idea. There are countless people who have left and returned to a company or team in the past. He's back in college and will get a head job somewhere.

I'm naive I guess. In my job I have to battle against people who would happily see me get fired or go to jail on a mistake that would get them rich and move past it quickly and deal with them again.

I'd love to see it but it just won't happen. Just hire Magee or Davis na dee should get it turned around with one of these coaches

Wasn't it in his settlement that He couldn't ever coach here again? I know I read that, but I'm not sure where.

If it isn't. Then He should be a serious candidate when Tags is gone. I loved Leavitt, but it wasn't all great when he was here. We had some terrible losses as well, but the ceiling was much higher.
