Not sure what the deal is with CBS but every link like that goes to a main CBS page, making it hard to find the exact article ..... but none of the articles I did find used the word "abuse". Mistreatment is not the same as abuse but of course "abuse" is more titillating .... like plummeting.

Thomas said during a preliminary briefing from the external reviewers handling the investigation, he learned of efforts to deter injury reporting and influence medical decisions that pressured players to avoid or postpone medical treatment and continue playing despite injuries.

Thomas also said in some instances student-athletes were treated inappropriately with respect to whether they could remain on scholarship during the spring semester of their senior year if they weren't on the team.

No kidding. They're going to have to go to the University of Illinois for free and play for a coach that isn't a complete ******* *******. On top of that, they're probably going to suck for a few years as opposed to their usual dominance of the Big 10.

Yeah, the university will never use the word "abuse".  They have lawsuits to protect against.  Of course they will spin it as "mistreatment", no matter what really happened.   And we don't know what really happened.  Perhaps the thread title should read "possible abuse".

When you hide important medical info you know from a patient the correct term is malpractice and massive lawsuits are settled over it, on an almost daily basis. When you hide medical info and them put them at risk for further, irreversable injury, abuse is too mild a term. Heinous comes to mind. So again we ask, who is college football supposed to benefit?
