http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/usfs-cost-of-attendance-figure-appears-solid/2238891

Days before the dawn of August, USF already has set itself in a position to be a stern league competitor this school year in each of its full-scholarship sports.

At least in terms of cost of attendance.

School officials, including athletic director Mark Harlan, have confirmed student-athletes in the Bulls' full-scholarship sports (football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, women's golf) will receive between $4,100 and $4,500 to cover cost of attendance (COA) in the 2015-16 academic year.

Based on published reports and data provided by other schools, USF's amount appears to be among the more generous in the American Athletic Conference.

As a comparison, it looks like we will be competitive with the SEC as far as COA goes which is nice to know IMO.

I never said they weren't going to pay it eventually, I said there would be a disadvantage if they didn't announce it, and they hadn't up to now.  If they hadn't, it would have been used against them in recruiting.

It would have no effect on recruiting if they (the USF coaching staff) were telling the potential recruits this when they spoke during the recruitment process.

Volleyball and Women's golf?

I don't know about volleyball players, but I doubt those who play golf really need the money.

At this point, the CoA gives no built in advantage to the P5 over those G5's who can afford it ... in some cases, a G5 will have the advantage, ie LSU's average number is $3100, http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/jon-solomon/25199127/sec-coaches-are-increasingly-skeptical-of-cost-of-attendance-figures I think Spurrier said it best in that article:

“If one school can give $5,000 a year, another $4,000, hell, that's just the way it is,†Spurrier said. “If they can out recruit you because of that, maybe a school with a new indoor facility can out recruit another one. Who knows the reason a young man picks a school?â€
