The last I heard of him was http://preps.heraldtribune.com/2015/03/31/kinnan-is-back-in-the-game/

I am curious how invovled he will be with the O. Seems like he and coach Hope have a good relationship which can only help!

Likely very since the basis of the design is what he ran at Manatee... similar to the offense Auburn runs, Kinnan consulted while they developed that offense, too.

I am hoping he has some weight in the war room. If he wasnt here I would be quite concerned about the switch to the spread. With him here and coach Hope, I have a bit more....faith (lol) that we will be able to get something together this year on O.

I think much of this new offense working really starts more with the lineman being able to grasp the blocking schemes and executing.

If they can do this with guys that have some knowledge of the schemes already (like Galati who played under Kinnan), I could see this helping Mack get some good runs and hopefully open the passing game up.

We could have been a much better team on film if we hadn't dropped as many passes during crucial downs last year.

Nonetheless, last year is gone and I look forward to seeing how well these young men can match-up on the field.

Kinnan was always big on winning your match-ups and if that happens, I think we could sneak out a few close ones and go bowling.

But Kinnan isn't coaching; he's a consultant. The combo of Hope/Reeves will be the third offensive coordinator we've had in Taggart's tenure at USF. I'm just not convinced that Consultant Kinnan can have as much impact. With Taggart retaining the play-calling, I'm just sure how different things will be this upcoming season. I sure hope I'm proved wrong.

I think Kinnan would carry more weight than a typical consultant.  Taggart trusts Kinnan 100 percent and will allow him to make changes where necessary.  Where as a guy like Hope may want to change something and Taggart will need to be sold on it.

Well said. You don't bring on a "consultant" that has ties with a coach and then not allow them a little hand in how ow what might need to be changed especially when your job is on the line as everyone thinks.

I think Tags gets two more years as I don't think we want to be paying what four coaches after he's fired?

this is a few months old and it's probably been posted before, but it talks about his role somewhat

Here's an interesting question/thought.

So Tags takes back play calling in hopes to save his career or sink his own ship.

Does Kinnan sit in the booth and "assist" with play calls or will Kinnan not be anywhere near the booth?
