Former Bull Tyrone McKenzie joins Jim Leavitt in Colorado

Tyrone McKenzie is in his first year as a defensive graduate assistant coach, as he joined the CU staff on July 20, 2015.  His primary role is assisting his former college coach, Jim Leavitt, with the linebackers along with general overall duties with the entire defense.

McKenzie, 29, is in his first coaching role after retiring from professional football.  He was selected by New England in the third round of the 2009 National Football League Draft out of South Florida, where he completed his career as a first-team All-Big East performer at linebacker.

That's great. I always thought that it was huge that he transferred and got to play right away. I do believe of all transfers, he had the most immediate impact to date.

Good luck to both of them!

I still can see #27 with that ball being stripped from him in Rutgers and it being called a "forward fumble".

Pretty sure it was not long after that that Slaton left the game too. T-Mac stole his heart on that play
