  1. USF to demolish oldest dorms to make way for new housing WWW.USFORACLE.COM The Argos Center will have a new look in a few years. USF approved a five-year redevelopment plan that would demolish Kosove Apartments, Beta Hall and Betty...
  2. It's going to be precast concrete not like the aluminum bleacher at UCF... “Some of the best athletic departments in the country have great facilities spread out, maybe even a couple of miles away,” Kelly said. “USF’s, for forevermore, will be all concise, efficient and at an elite level.” He said the precast concrete design would increase stability and safety. Kelly told the board it also allows for a 10,000 to 12,000-seat expansion. USF unveils stadium renderings, announces construction delay - St Pete Catalyst STPETECATALYST.COM University of South Florida officials announced Tuesday that an on-campus stadium will no longer open in 2026; however, they did release long-awaited renderings. USF...
  3. Rust (and @ActionNetworkHQ bowl projections) never sleeps. A few new updates: USF-Syracuse in Military (if Tulane wins AAC); UTSA-Fresno State in 1st Responder; Utah-Maryland in Las Vegas; JMU-Air Force in Armed Forces. Latest for all 41 bowls actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/updated-… Military Bowl Dec. 27 • Annapolis, MD Syracuse -5 South Florida
  4. $280 million TV deal for the Pac-12 and AAC superconference if Oliver Luck succeeds in negotiating a fair deal: Reports WWW.SPORTSKEEDA.COM The Pac-12 is in a bit of a mess, and there could be a Pac-12 and AAC superconference forming.
  5. MSN WWW.MSN.COM College football realignment rumors: AAC looking to add the Pac-12 holdovers What I like about the AAC potentially absorbing the Pac-12 leftovers is that the league has always been national in scope, that is has a strong linear television partnership with ESPN and that is has been by far and away the strongest Group of Five conference throughout the College Football Playoff era. At this stage of game, it is all about adding inventory, particularly on the West Coast. Not to say the four Pac-12 holdovers will do a number on linear TV, but we know Oregon State and Washington State have proud and rabid fanbases that will pack their stadiums to the brim. As far as Cal and Stanford are concerned, they have put forth very competitive football teams in years past. They have rigid academic standards to navigate, but can put forth winning products at times. Ultimately, I think rapid AAC expansion by way of the leftover absorption helps both parties considerably. The Pac-12 schools get a new and competitive league to play in, while the AAC increases its market visibility and television inventory. It may be a step down for the other four, but the AAC has outpaced the more-established Mountain West for the better part of a decade. College football realignment was never about making geographical sense; it's all about the money.
  6. The new football stadium renderings will likely have this color scheme when it comes out later this year.
  7. It’s conference realignment season and a few schools just got a boost in their value The Association of American Universities announced the addition of six new members on Thursday, bringing AAU membership up to 69 schools in the U.S. Read more here.
  8. A history and philosophy professor making negative comments about athletic investments. Shocking!!
  9. Imagine a new football stadium and a pedestrian bridge south of the athletic district leading to a new mixed-use entertainment complex. This would be the best outcome if it all came together as it would enhance game day and a good place for students and alumni to visit year-round. Hillsborough again seeks to redevelop MOSI property A prior effort to put a mixed-use project on the site stalled in 2020.
  10. I think we dodged a bullet in not hiring Chadwell. He had a great record based upon having the best player in the conference and would have likely been a flop at USF.
  11. Jim Leavitt as our DC would fun!!! A Golesh / Leavitt ticket would be fun and could be a winning combination.
  12. We don't have Power 5 money - Colorado offers Deion Sanders more than $5 million annually as coach mulls landing spot - CBSSports.com The Jackson State coach is expected to announce his future plans this weekend
  13. Chadwell as HC with Leavitt as our DC. That would be better than Prime Time!!
  14. If the Big12 expands to 18 vs 16 that might improve of chances. Once they go past 16 it opens the door for a larger super conference of 20 or more teams. When you consider the 18 teams that are rumored you have UCF very much on an island. Maybe the UCF / USF travel partner / rivalry will play into the discussions more after the 6 PAC 12 teams join. We could be part of the eastern pod with UC, WV, UCF, UM, USF considering a USF / Memphis expansion. I’m sure the networks want eastern time zone teams so we add value in this area too. Maybe this will be the next play after the 6 PAC 12 teams are secured.
  15. What dominos do we want to fall? - Big10 stays at 16 team and Oregon / Washington stay in PAC12 - PAC12 adds 2 or more teams to replace USC and UCLA - Takes Boise and SDSU (rumored Big12 expansion candidates) - Big12 goes to 14 or 16 teams - adds USF, Memphis (expansion goes east vs. west) Other notes: - ACC is not getting raided due to its grant of rights deal (2036) so no ACC slots will open up for a long time - ACC will not take another Florida school - USF might be screwed if Oregon / Washington go to the Big10 as the Big12 will poach PAC12 schools vs. any AAC schools Hoping for a Big12 invite sooner rather than later....
  16. Daily Delivery: USF take steps toward an on-campus stadium to boost its Big 12 chances GoPowercat publisher Tim Fitzgerald delivers the day's notable Kansas State sports headlines with his analysis
  17. I recall hearing that there was $10M in the bank for the football operation building when it was separated from the IPF. So with the two $5M donations we should have $20M for the stadium / football operation facility. $50M sounds about right for the private donation goal to get the project started so $30M to go.
