You know, it's so funny. Looking back on this thread, look how many posts there were about this guy. People spend all this time fretting about recruiting... OMG, we are missing on all the good HS players, coach can't recruit, what are we gonna do, team's going to hell, etc, etc, etc.
But you have to trust the coaches. Sometimes they meet on a kid on his official visit, and say, "Uh oh, this one's gonna be trouble" and so they quit calling/texting/emailing him, and let him be some other coaches headache. He doesn't go on twitter and say "Folks, we aren't recruiting Porter any more because he's an armed robber disguised as a football player" but I'll bet there are times he'd like to.
So trust the coaches, they are getting paid millions of dollars to sort out the good from the bad. Better to have a bunch of one stars that are coachable, than a bunch of primadonna five stars who are just counting the downs until they can bolt for the NFL.
Recruting is important, but it's not EVERYTHING.
