  1. He bought Lovie Smith's old house. "The property spans 13 acres; including the outdoor areas, the home is more than 10,000 square feet with six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms." https://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2020/02/11/usfs-new-football-coach-buys-former-bucs-coachs.html
  2. I grew up in Lakeland where the campus is and used to go see the Mocs (Moccasins) play basketball. Their campus actually has the biggest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings and is on a lake.
  3. Good news again, he's on Scott's radar: https://www.tampabay.com/sports/high-schools/2020/01/09/usf-turns-attention-toward-armwood-defensive-back-chamberlain-lineman/
  4. Pretty cool how Swinney was all in on the move: When Scott accepted the offer from USF, Swinney took out his rolodex to try and build up his staff. ... “This is one of those jobs you want,” Swinney told Scott. https://www.si.com/college/2020/01/10/jeff-scott-usf-clemson-dabo-swinney
  5. Yep, that's what I was thinking. Although I was expecting more of Battle.
  6. Kind of weird seeing a bunch of guys who we were hoping to be the future now in the portal. Almost our entire QB roster a couple years ago is there: https://247sports.com/college/south-florida/Season/2019-Football/TransferPortal/
  7. I like this part: "He is a Florida native with a great track record of recruiting the state". The first link has a list of staff hires. https://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/01/05/georgia-bulldogs-football-usf-jules-montinar-jeff-scott/ https://gousfbulls.com/news/2020/1/4/football-motinar-named-cornerbacks-coach.aspx
  8. He's only 26 which seems too young but I guess it fits if Scott acts as a mentor, similar to Weis' relationship with Lane Fiffin.
  9. https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-charlie-weis-jr-a-strong-candidate-to-join-usf-staff/
  10. Sione Tuitupou is a nice get. I had forgotten about him.
  11. I subscribe because they have a lot of talented reporters and writers and it's the best source for local news. It's just that their sports is the worst. They should just outsource it to the Oracle.
  12. I didn't even notice that but it's in the page header too.
  13. Here's the Times' tracker if anyone wants to keep up with it: https://www.tampabay.com/sports/gators/2019/12/18/tailback-brian-battie-is-first-signee-of-jeff-scott-era-at-usf/
  14. FWIW, 247 is predicting 100% to USF. https://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Omarion-Dollison-at-Gray-Academy-238026/CurrentExpertPredictions/Embed/?SnapShot=637121929974593808
  15. Reminds me a little of Barnett but he runs a lot. Looks like he has a great arm.
  16. https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bulls/2019/12/17/usfs-jeff-scott-pulls-off-recruiting-coup-on-eve-of-signing-day/ And he's eligible right away.
  17. He's toxic. He reminds me of Jose Mourinho in soccer. He can definitely get you some wins but sooner or later there's a fire in the dumpster and the dumpster is your program. A complete narcissist. But maybe he's learned his lesson. Oh, wait... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27890527/fau-coach-lane-kiffin-fined-5000-blind-refs-tweet
  18. Sonny Dykes went from Louisiana Tech to the AAC by way of Cal.
  19. Supposedly Ole Miss and Arkansas are after Lane Kiffin so he's probably out here, which I'm happy about.
